A major RAID Event, dubbed the Web of Corruption, is about to unfold, bringing all the awesome activities you’ve come to expect! But that’s not the only thing coming to the game, and Update 11.60 is packed with smaller but rather pleasant QoL changes, such as the Cursed City and Grim Forest becoming available during Background Multi-Battles, improvements to Siege, Team Presets, and more.
Read the article below to learn more about these changes!
Web of Corruption
The Web of Corruption picks up the story right where Chaos Awakes left it last year, and thrusts you into the beleaguered Mistwood once again. There, the Sylvan Watchers wage a desperate war for survival against the creatures of Corruption, unwittingly reawakened by Kurosa the Covetous and her coterie. Now, as they have been defeated and banished, new Champions rise to battle the rising threat… or to take advantage of it for their own nefarious ends.
The Event will run from June 3 to August 5 and will include the following: 6 new Champions, Fusion Events, a Champion Chase with a free Legendary Champion, the return of the Event Dungeon with a new Boss, gifts, and even a new Coalition Event.
We’ll have a dedicated Sneak Peek video published in the near future, but here’s a general outline.
Phase 1
Like Chaos Awakes before it, the Web of Corruption will be split into two Phases. The first one features a Rewards Calendar (includes one of 3 Relics voted for as a final reward and Deflection Gear), the beginning of the Event Dungeon, and a Fragment Summon Event featuring Folan Silverhart.
Phase 2
The second Phase kicks off with a new Champion Chase, introducing Vallaryn the Equalizer to the roster. This enigmatic Undead elf has spent centuries preserving the fragile balance of Light and Dark, and the Mistwood’s plight has forced him to seek a desperate alliance with Talenna Soulseer of Aravia to save the Sylvan from their doom.
Furthermore, the Coalition Event returns with new Limited Quests, another Fusion will take place, bringing Haggibah the Nestmaid, a cunning Dark Elf Champion, into the mix, and the Event Dungeon will continue until the Web of Corruption runs its course.
We’ll also bring 8 Relics from Chaos Awakes back into the game for the duration of the Event, so you’ll have a chance to obtain them again. And if you manage to get all 6 Web of Corruption Champions, you’ll get a shiny Badge. Do so by August, and you’ll also get a gift!
QoL: Background Multi-Battles
To make time management easier for Raiders who have unlocked some of our biggest features, we’ll introduce an improvement to Background Multi-Battles. As of 11.60, you’ll be able to play the Cursed City and Grim Forest modes while running Campaign, Dungeon, or Doom Tower Background Multi-Battles. All Champions involved in Multi-Battles will remain available for both of those game modes without restrictions.
QoL: Siege
We’ll introduce several small improvements to Siege mode. First of all, a new requirement for Siege Tiers 7 and 8 will be added to account for recent changes: Clans now require at least 5000 Siege Points to remain in either of those Tiers. There will also be improvements for matchmaking, and we’ll make it so that owning higher-tier Player Avatars from Siege rewards unlocks all lower-tier Avatars that may have been skipped for one reason or another.
In addition to that, Siege will get its own Team Presets, separate from the Arena, and we’ll make the number of Attack and Defense Scrolls spent in the previous Siege by each Clan member visible to their Clan Leader and Deputies.
QoL: Live Arena
The upcoming Live Arena QoL updates will address several aspects of PvP, including matchmaking improvements and Battle flow adjustments.
Seasonal Battle Changes
Seasonal matchmaking will be improved to reduce the likelihood of facing opponents with ratings that are significantly higher or lower, resulting in more balanced matchups with players closer to your own rating.
Changes for all Live Arena Battles
The likelihood of being matched against the same opponent multiple times in a row will be reduced. While repeat matchups may still occur, opponents you’ve already faced will receive significantly lower priority in the matchmaking queue.
No one enjoys getting stuck in overly long and exhausting Battles, so we are also introducing several adjustments aimed at speeding things up:
- The maximum Battle duration will be reduced from 20 to 15 minutes
- Once a Battle exceeds 5 minutes, time per turn will be reduced from 15 to 10 seconds
- Once a Battle exceeds 10 minutes, time per turn will be further reduced from 10 to 8 seconds
Miscellaneous
A new Forge Pass Season will begin.
Separate Team Presets will be added to various Dungeons, along with an option to save the current Team into a Preset.
The Change Team Decks item in the Grim Forest mode will allow you to change Champions even if they were rolled for a Stage that you could not beat.
I am liking the siege updates. I really hope matchmaking will include overall clan power for just a bit. I know that this does not play the main role and should not, but still we are getting sick of always facing clans with 2,5-4times our power. Absolutely every time...
This will be a significant step up to get to see a little more information, but overall organizing a siege in game is impossible. We need a way to contact single clan members to give them direction otherwise a siege will only be possible to organize through discord. I mean we do that, but the game should present a way itself to play its own game mode properly.
