The probem with live arena is simply that you've created 12 ranking tiers - but force everyone into the top tier.
Other games leave all tiers open so that players will tend to be ranked along with their peers, which makes for enjoying live gaming.
Forcing the worst players to compete in the same tier as the world's best players has never made any sense.
Let players rank in tiers according to their ability and leave as that. It's what other games do.
I haven't been in silver long but this is my experience with live arena. IDK if it's my region but either I'm playing against Timmy with 200-300 less points than me and he's using some free legos or aren't speed tuned or I'm playing against Mikey millionare that's 200-300 points above me with an empowered Nais or something else ridiculous. I've played maybe 2 or 3 matches against people of very close arena points and they were actually fun.
There really isn't a point for f2p/low spenders when there's no provisional matches to be placed in a tier, no 'rank up' matches to filter skill and until silver, there's no where to go but up. The point disparity of some of my matches is just goofy. I really sadly admit, I only play live arena if I have a daily quest or I'm working on something like a Marius mission. I avoid it in CvC too because the time spent for points for me can either be very effecient or ineffecient so I rather just do some other PvE content to guarantee points.
