Raid Digest (29.07.22)

Greetings, Raiders! Don't forget that the Telerian Summer Trials are in full swing, hurry up to improve your contribution (you can check the progress here). And now let’s step back for a moment to see a greater picture of what else is happening in the constantly evolving world of Teleria. Yes, it is time for our new Raid Digest, so let's get started!

Grouping Players for Events

As you may notice, in the case of Tournaments, players get grouped together with others of roughly the same stage of account progression to make their competition fairer. But that's not been the case for Events so far, where the point milestones are equal for everyone. However, taking into account different needs and capabilities of different players, especially new ones, we're going to introduce a more flexible approach to Events. Some of them might feature more accessible milestones for beginners along with rewards, more appropriate for players' demands at that game stage. On the other hand, more seasoned Raid veterans might face more challenging milestones with more valuable rewards. Not all Events will have this milestone variation, though, and we will need some time to collect data and your feedback before settling down on Events grouping settings.

Hero's Path - Clarification on Coins

While we're on the topic of Events, let's briefly touch upon the way Hero's Path events relate to Events proper. Long story short - they don't, as Hero's Path activity grants you a distinct type of resource - Coins, which are not the same as Event points, Tournament points, or Clan vs. Clan Tournament points. Therefore, reaching milestones in the Hero's Path doesn't count towards the progression of Missions that stipulate accumulating a certain number of points in Events or Tournaments.

New Plarium Play Features

Development of Plarium Play, our official game distribution software, goes on. Recently, we have announced the addition of new payment methods and national currencies to the system. Moreover, in the near future, you may expect the following improvements:

  • Dark theme (optional, you switch to the dark side theme as you pleased);
  • In-game status for Discord - your Discord friends will be able to see that you are busy raiding at the moment;
  • Bug fixes and minor optimization.

Current Community Activities

It might get tricky to keep track of all the community activities going on, so here's their brief overview:

  • Summer Bingo (Discord, Facebook) - see if you're up to the list of the specified challenges;
  • Burn Spiders Contest (Discord) - contest for the best team for the Spider's Den that uses HP Burn debuff;
  • Friendship day (Facebook, Discord) - share touchy stories about how you formed bonds with a particular Champion
  • FanArt Deathknight Contest (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) - draw Deathknight and get unique avatars and other rewards;
  • Detective Stories Contest (Facebook, Forum) - write a mystery story set in Teleria.

If you want to find out how to participate in each activity, please visit the platform specified beside it.

As for the Craft Trunda's Hammer Challenge, we will announce the list of the best versions of Trunda's hammer in do-it-yourself style next week. Raider, if you are one of the talented artisans who has already posted the Trunda’s hammer with the #trundashammerdiy hashtag on your social media, please make sure that your Facebook/Instagram account is accessible to everyone; otherwise, we won't be able to see the entry.

Clan vs. Clan Tournament and Personal Rewards

The upcoming Clan vs. Clan Tournament will feature Personal rewards, so brace yourself and get ready for another fierce competition.

That's all for today's Digest. Have a great weekend and see you in two weeks' time!

Grouping events:

I do not like it. For grouping people in similiar levels of experience, you have tournaments. Setting up different levels of progression for events just looks like you want to force veteran players to spend more ressources. This can lead to a very sour taste and might drive many maore players away from taking part in these events. The need to spend more ressources on those events will much more likely convince me to ignore the event than to spend even more time playing RAID. Ignoring events is a sure way to feel like there cannot be any progression with *normal* playing anymore which will lead to the thought to stop playing at all. This is a very delicate process and can result in many people losing interest in the game.

This is especially true for events within a Fusion. If I have to spend more ressources than another player to get som fragments or a specific fusion champ than another player purely based on my dedication to the game so far, I would be punished to have played and supported this game for so long. Can you imagine my reaction if I see that I get punished for doing something? I would stop doing this.

Hero's Path clarification

Aeh...whatever...it is sad that they don't count for Clan Quests, CvC whatever....

New Plarium Play features:

Instead of working on methods for the players to pay, you should perhaps concentrate on providing new content or playtest the content more thouroughly so you are not experiencing negative backlash like Hydra or Path of Light or Forge Pass

CvC and personal rewards

These rewards are not personal, if they were personal, they would be given upon personal achievements and not tied to 29 others people efforts and the non-efforts of 30 other people

Current Community activities

I do not have interest in any of those...so I cannot really say anything more about them.

Yup. Its true, i did over 517k, i was first at the table. No were other player who did at least 230k. But our clan lost because in the last minute the opponent clan bought books.

So i didnt get any reward, when i did the highest efforts for win. This is not personal reward.

Grouping players for events - terrible idea.  You already make these things more effort than they should.  Are you trying to make the player base even smaller?

Hero's Path - The fact that you make these not work for progress missions just complicates the game and makes time-gated tasks take longer and be more frustrating.  It also takes a horrendously exucuted idea (hero's path) and makes it even worse.  You guys could use a win, not sure why you keep choosing the absolute worst option for player experience every single time.  That isn't how you are going to make more money.

Plarium play features - Dark theme and bug fixes are nice.

Current Community features - Fine I guess.  I have less than 0% interest even though that isn't mathematically possible.

New fusions - You didn't mention this but how, how, how did a designer mess this up so much?  The character card looked like you just messed up and didn't add a paragraph but Tyraku checked and apparently that skill is completely worthless if someone isn't dead?  What makes way more sense would be that the only difference between a teammate dead and everyone alive is 20% vs 30%.  Then you have a really good character.  As is?  Unfortunately the champion is a vault guardian.  That's how important that small difference is.  Nobody is going to plan on having characters dead for 99.9% of the game.  It is poorly designed.  Please fix this immediately because it is the difference between a S-A+ character and a B-C+ character.  Unremovable shield is very rare and very powerful.  Not having that makes him the ally attack champion with the worst buffs out of all the normal crew with nothing else really in his kit.
