I have a Lenovo Ideapad 330S with i3 processor (Win 10). Base speed is 2.20 GHz with max at 3.39 GHz. 12 GB RAM.

I am experiencing an issue where after several minutes of playing, the CPU speed locks at 1.89GHz while I'm playing the game.

I've monkeyed around already with the following:

Laptop custom power profile for AC power set to Minimum 100% CPU. (causes it to run at 3.39GHz all the time)

Laptop default "Balanced" power profile for AC power, with power mode set to Better Performance.

Windows "Game Mode" both tried On and Off.

In-Game graphics settings set in a myriad of ways from Medium to Advanced, and 30/60/Unlimited FPS, windowed and full-screen.

What's going on? No matter what I do, the CPU gets throttled down to 1.89 GHz until I fully exit the game. I don't appear to be experiencing any real significant issue with janky play, but it's not really smooth either, and changing options doesn't seem to have much effect on gameplay at all.

No other Windows game has ever done this.
