I just went to do my daily arena fights and when I hit refresh it only gave me one fight (as opposed to the standard list of 10 fights to pick from). This was strange, but I took the fight and won.
So the arena fight list refreshes as normal (This was in Gold IV), but suddenly ALL MY TOKENS ARE GONE! I had exactly 6 tokens before I took the first fight, and now I have ZERO. Last I checked, it's only one token per fight, just saying....

so you found 2 common problems here, I'll explain each of them in order.
1. finding less opponents than usual: this came together with the patch that they 'fixed' classic arena for being too hard, theyve many things including
- remove inactive players after a while
- ****adding easy accounts for you to fight in every rank
so if you get the easy batch with less opponents , pls just fight them for free medals, easy wins and move on to the next batch. It's like getting 10+... oppenents instead of 10.
2. The second so called bug you found is a visual bug, happend because you picked up a reward from daily quest. One of those reward is a 5 arena token. You pick that up and the game will show that your current arena token is +5 instantly. This will stay for a while but the real reward will go directly into your inbox. That will explain why you lost 5 exact tokens.
