I've also noticed some fairly weird interactions/hiccups on my end (way too many notifs), shall pass this along. 

Hmm, I was thinking the cause was likely that i had a notification from a thread that was "deleted" before I saw it, but if you're having the same, or at least similar, problem it probably rules that out.

Maybe you're just really, really popular.

that was approximately 2 hours of having the page open without refreshing while i did a hydra and chimera key

Mine seems to have been cleared up. No phantom notifications in the last ~18 hours

she's the one of the weirdos who don't get annoyed by red dots in game :)

mine seems to be normal now too. 

I did, yes. 

But since they didn't leave, I learned to love Big Brother and His Notifications.
