I should have tried that... I KNOW better! How could I forget that ESC is the common key for exiting a game?

I am going to have Shredder hit me on the head a while...

on apple, 

Command + TAB  takes you out of the game but keeps it playing while you do other things.

I hope you are joking sir (or ma'am) and are aware that this is not very funny. You would seriously post something which, if someone followed it, would essentially destroy their ability to use their computer?

There are a LOT of folks out there selling things that do more harm that good. Please tell me you are not one of THEM!

What Angwil recommended will work on a MAC without screwing up the computer, it is the equivalent of using ALT + TAB on a windows machine to toggle between your open programs.

I stumbled across this thread as I was searching for a solution to toggle between full screen and windowed screen in Plarium Play client.  It turns out ALT + ENTER is the combination to switch full screen and windowed modes.

I can confirm that the ESC key is the right way to exit the game.  ESC works the same as if you click the "X" in the top right corner. You can use ESC to "back-out" of game windows until you reach the Bastion / town.  Once you are back at your Bastion hitting ESC one more time will prompt you to confirm whether you want to close the game (Cancel / OK).
