Really, really annoying that every month I need to spend a pile of energy and, more importantly, time, on this silly quest, when I literally don't do campaign for anything anymore.

Just halve the number of campaign battles necessary for the monthly quest, once you cross, say, level 70. That way it'll line up roughly with the daily quest requirement.
