The UI even clearly shows the extra amount - as an example, my current cycle showed 277/275 points accumulated. However, once I claimed the lego book, it reset to 0/275, rather than 2/275.

This is of course not an issue if you always complete all the advanced quests. But if you are behind for whatever reason, it's just an extra slap in the face.
