Why are all other heroes 30+ in the Classic Arena (unranked)? My heroes only under 20, how are you supposed to win? I tried, but the heroes of the opponent, killed my instant one-hit. That's stupid ...
It's called luck, or in your case no luck.
They recently changed the matchmaking system, they expanded the search system, as a result if you are lucky you find nothing but easy targets every time you refresh the list.
If your luck is crap, then you are more likely to get tough teams to face every refresh.
I'm in Gold 3, this refresh I got one player I could beat, the rest are 2 to 3 times my team power.
Come back when you have a 5* at least...
Hellhades got his first 5* on his second day of playing; you can probably do so in a week.
You should be focusing on campaign; try to get warmaiden& spirithost. Together with shaman they make a decent beginner (first 2 weeks) team

1. You do not need a 5* to win. However, you do need one to get out of bronze 1.
2. You may not get a 5* in your first week, I took 2 months. It depends on your playing time and your efficiency.
3. In campaign, there will be four slots. If you have a team of 20's, I assume your starter is lv 20. Farm last stage of campaign only starter to get chickens and xp. Do not focus on other champions! (specifically shaman)

Have you been playing on and off Riptide? I was pretty late and only got my Galek to 5* after 1 and a half weeks and him to 6 after 1 and a half months...
