• open shards during 2x-events, double chance for legendaries obviously helps to get more legendaries
• save resources like energy refills and shards and do a fusion. I got 2 legendaries, Yoshi and Ruel, with that strategy. Don't start  to use your resources when you're not sure if you can get the price, wait some weeks for the next fusion in that case

Yea, unfortunately opening just 1 sacred shard after 5 weeks doesn't guarantee a legendary.  That's the whole point of this game.  You can get a number of sacred shards though from completing missions, daily logins and campaign quests, and eventually clan boss.  

Also, once you have been around for 270 days you will essentially start the re-occuring 30 day login bonus set, which combined with the monthly quests will effectively give you 2 sacred shards a month.

That said, I think a lot of people get hung up on legendary champions and think that they cannot play the game without them.  There's alot of powerful rare and epic champions that will get you through pretty much all of the content long before you need any legendaries.  Just enjoy the journey!

I'm on day 160, so far I think I've had 5 or 6 sacred shards, epics from everyone of them, even during boosted events.

I have 4 legendary, 3 from ancient shards and one from a void shard, so it really depends on your luck.

I fell for the bait this time however - kymar and lyssandra were too tempting

5 sacreds and a bunch of ancients later i have 7 trash epics and lots of regrets :)

I opened 1 of each just in case i got lucky, I didn't now i am saving for 2X .

31 green shards

0 blue shards

0 purple shards

0 gold shards

1x Kael lvl 40 2x purple stars 2x gold stars

1x shaman lvl 40 4x gold stars

1 x spider lvl 40 4x stars

1x jizoh lvl 40 4x gold stars

1x quargan the crowned lvl 35 4x gold stars 

1x baroth the blood soaked lvl 13 4x gold stars 

1x high khatun lvl 1 4x gold stars and thats all of my epics and i feel like im drowning without so guidance (YouTube) hard to understand.

edit: is there away to lvl up a piece of armors stars or are they set at whatever it is?

There  is  not  a  way  to  increase  your  armors'  stars.  

I  recommend  watching  this  guide,  it's  easy  to  understand  and  covers  a  lot  of  the  topics  new  players  need.

It  sounds  like  you  are  a  month  in  the  game-  and  you  expect  a  legendary?

Legendaries  are  good.  They  shouldn't  be  easy  to  get.

I  got  my  first  legendary  from  a  FUSION  at  around  5  months.
