5 heroes, 4 stars, well geared, epic or acended blue, didnt even make a dent on orc boss! It's so hard it ain't even fun trying. First boss skill nullifies all i do for 2 turns, then comes the taunt spaming, and another round of nullifie. Meanwhile the minions heal the boss for 95k every turn.
But they are 4 stars...

The point is, its the fist boss on a ladder. It seems really odd to count in 5x 5* full ascended epics with lvl 16 proper gear to clear the first boss. The reward is a basic tome, so the hero setup to clear the stage should be equal. Following the logic from the rest of the game.
Be nice of the reward was an epic tome. But yes, those boss waves are a bitch. I've only beaten a few. This content is aimed at veteran accounts not us noobs. Take the free 1 and 2 star glyphs daily and go back to farming like me.
if i recall correctly i couldn't beat it even with a level 60 until i used resist gear. think i needed 2 or 3 sets to get resist 100-140 range. if you can do that on two defense tanks, it should make it easier.
Yes, guys, fw still need to be reworked.
Of course difficulty and rewards should be proportioned.
