Chimera And The Disgusting 3%-Rule

So guys, I would like to make a plea for the abolition of the terrible 3% rule, especially in Chimera Battles.

In order to increase the Damage and the Trials, I decided to rebuild my Team, switching it from a Protected Gear based Team into a High RES based Team.

I've worked my arse off in the last months farming the required artefacts such as reflex and after I finally made it, I was instantly confronted with the frustrating restart-cycle after the chimera was able to remove the buffs from my key champions, eventhough they had over 600 RES and honestly I'm tired at this point.

The last 5 weeks of chimera fighting have been more like a gambling whether I have to spend 30/40 Min. for a run or 2 hours, because the 3%-Rule decided to kick-in midbattle.

My Suggestion would be: Remove that goddamn rule. What terrible kind of mechanic is this tho, to set very high stat requirement which, once you managed to reach them, can be negated by random unluckiness. This takes the fun and motivation out of the game. To invest time and ressources to build up team for endgame content is nothing but frustrating, because in the end everything is coming down to pure gambling whether your team will make it or not.

The focus should be to motivate people spending resources and building teams, trying different combinations and so on, but you definitly ruin it by making it completly random if the team will make it or not, completly undepending of your stats and builds. It feels like tons of hours, resources and effort goes right into the trashcan if you reach the required stats with the regarded sets but keep failing the run because the doomed curse of randomness do not care about your build, stats and all the effort you've been spending on your team.

So I have to offer two solutions:

Completly Remove the 3%-Rule

or

Atleast Remove the 3%-Rule if you hit certain Stat Value (for exampel: if 555 RES is technically needed, the 3%-Rule will never hit if you reach at least 600 RES)

By that I'd leave it like this. Rant is over.

How do you guys feel about the 3%-Rule? Has anyone the same feeling about it like me, or am I the onliest person running into it and feel mad about it? Maybe it's just me and I'm overlooking something regarding this topic, so feel free to let me know!

Personally I dont mind it but I understand people's frustration with it.  I wouldnt hate if they removed it from only PvE but I fear the tradeoff would be theyd jack stats to make it harder to hit those thresholds.

Yes, I'm quiet sure that removing the 3% Rule would result in much higher Stat Requirements, but actually I wouldn't feel bad about it, eventhough it could mean much higher effort in artefact farming it would atleast give you the opportunity to face a goal with the certainty to be successful as soon as you reach it.

It's a trade-in that I would personaly do.

From what I've seen on yt sounds like we simply need to debuff the heck out of the chimera. This is how we get rid of the 3%.

The 3% in question is the baked in ability for any Toon or Boss to Resist a Debuff even against (seemingly) overwhelming Accuracy or to land a Debuff against (seemingly) overwhelming Resistance.

Or, in other words:  Even if my Krixia has 1000 Acc, the Toons I fight in Cursed City will resist 3% of the time.....and my Mithrala with 1200 Res will get debuffed 3% of the time.

The 3% rule applies across all PVE & PVP game modes.

Yea, I've heard about that, but eventhough this would be true, it wouldn't change the case I've tried to made, because this way of handling the 3% Rule would just be an extra step for a gambling mechanic. But my point is: I don't want to gamble at a boss fight and I don't wanna lose my motivation in the evolving of my team.

Trying to spam as much as possible Debuffs on the chimera to hopefuly preventd my self from this aweful gamble mechanic feels like sitting on a slot machine, putting 1000 bucks instead of 100 bucks into it in order to hopefuly hit the jackpot because of increasing the chances to do so by spending for more tries.

Tested it yesterday being I recently got Riho. Her debuff spam worked well. After watching morr videos this 3% ordeal seems to be one of the smallest issues within RAID if even an issue. With the right gears and team people are destroying chimera damage wise with minimal work needed. Perhaps I'm not understanding what your concern is. Doesn't seem a gamble to me.

I typically have no trouble with Chimera.  I do 12-15 Trials on both NM & UNM with easy top chest damage every week.

Personally, I don't have a problem with the 3% chance. David did beat Goliath, afterall, and sometimes, I am David, especially in Live Arena.

However, from what I can gather from Discord comments, there a lot of people that can struggle in a Chimera Run if they get 3 percented at the wrong time, but I think the bigger issue for most people is getting your buffs stolen at the wrong time and then your team wiped out compared to just failing to land a debuff or two.

Regardless, I don't think Plarium will change it. It has been a feature of the game since the beginning, and they have never acknowledged it as a something they view as an issue.

Most of the complaints these days stem from Titus teams getting the shield stolen late yeah.
