is it the fight against the initial set of mirror copies where things tend to go south or somewhere else?

the first team you mentioned doesn't sound too bad, but deacon should absolutely be the fastest champion (and have his skills available for the 3rd round) and scyll can be a bit unreliable as a cc champ so you might want to look for alternatives. alure should also have her skills deactivated for round 3; her major value is keeping astranyx's turn meter down so there's no reason to use anything besides her a1. hard to say more than that without knowing exactly what's going wrong and as always, it's easier to give feedback if you throw up a picture of your roster.

I see what you're saying about Scyl-she is unreliable for sure. This team is dying before the mirrors can be killed-either that or they somehow win-it's such a toss up.

Now, the other team I mentioned (Deacon/Mordecai/Rathalos/Vogoth/Elder Skarag) can get the mirrors killed but can't defeat the boss.

to deal with the clones, there are two basic strategies to use. the more common one is to go tm manipulator followed by cc to lock out the clones and kill them before they can get a free turn, but you can also go tm manipulator straight into def down and AoE attacks if you have a strong enough nuker.

astranyx also has two major strategies. you can either run several tm decreasing champions to keep her fully locked out or you can just bumrush her with a team of strong dps champions. the first one will be the easier of the two, both in general and for you specifically.

just looking at what you have here, i'm thinking aim for something like lyssandra, deacon, alure, armiger (you may be able to get away with someone more damage-oriented like coldheart or fahrakin) and one really strong nuker that can effectively oneshot your clones. unfortunately, i don't see any great candidates for that slot right now (rathalos seems like your best currently, but he's the wrong affinity against most of your team) and you may have pulled better options before you can finish that setup, but it's something to look toward. lyssandra in particular will be your friend for this fight. she's one of the best champions for both aspects of the fight, so getting her up and running will make running this a lot easier.

for now, if you still want to grind dark fae, i think your first team might be able to do it with some tweaks. either increase deacon's speed or find a slower cc champion (maybe do that anyway? what's skarg's speed at?) so he's the first to act and if you're not able to fully keep astranyx's tm down, maybe drop magnar for venomage to keep her from healing back up.

Skarg's speed is 203. Are you saying that Scyl is too fast for Deacon to work?

Drop scyl and add kael as your nuker.  With all the tm reduction u have that should be easy

This is my team for hard. I would sub in HK for nekmo and armiger for RG.  Might not even need to build lyssandra 

any presets I should make sure to turn off for wave 2?

for round 3, deacon will want both his a2 and a3 available, a3 opener. both high khatun and kael will want to open with their a2s. armiger and alure don't need to worry about cooldowns because you'll want them both using their default ability for the entire round.

Deacon followed by Uugo followed by Wukong as far as speed. Should will wipe your clones every time. 

LMAO.... not a good idea.  And I fully admit I had the grand idea to use wukong myself once... lol

Yeah let's just say Wukong reviving during the fight will go badly for you :)
