And just in case you didn't know: food champs, that get sacrificed, do NOT need to be leveled to their max level. I just mention this as I see this uncommen Dwarf (forgot his name) at rank 5, lvl 40. If you want to use him as 5*-chicken, you can do that right now, or even at rank 5, lvl 1. There is no need to lvl them up to the max lvl of their actual rank.
