Vogoth passive

Hey guys!

Quick question: does Vogoth need ACC to land his leech? It comes from his passive, and it says "places", so I guess not...

I'm just curious, cause I need ACC fro decrease attack anyways

he does need accuracy. unless it explicitely states that it cannot be resisted, all debuffs (and similar effects such as tm decrease or cooldown increasing effects) require accuracy to be placed.

I'm not sure where / who spread that piece of poor information, but I really wish Plarium would just make an announcement and tell everyone "hey guys, please stop putting any thought into the word "places"".

The word means nothing. It doesn't have any extra context. It is 100% synonymous with any other word you could use instead. Call it "applies". Or "lands". Or "puts a nice shiny red icon on your enemy".

There are two key things when it comes to debuffs. First - does it explicitly state it cannot be resisted. That is the *only* time that a debuff does not need accuracy. And, second, does the application of the debuff happen as a consequence of an attack. If the answer to that is yes, then if the attack is a weak hit, the debuff will not be applied.

Just to further emphasise that latter point - this means that even if the debuff explicitly states it cannot be resisted, it will still fail to land if the hit is a weak hit

Okay. I think I confused it with the weak hit problem. If a champ "places" a debuff, it cannot be a weak hit, cause the champ doesn't attack, only tries to debuff, so only ACC matters

the terminology is the same either way. regardless of whether or not the skill involves an attack, it is still described as placing a debuff.

case in point:

Incorrect. Though Carpe already provided a perfect clarification, so I'll just yield to that answer.

Although I understand what you may assume to be incorrect, if you read it thoroughly, you see that I wrote champ doesn't attack

like this. So you tell me, can this be a weak hit? Because what I wrote was concerning this matter

I don't have this kind of champ, so no experience with this mechaninc

All that matters is whether it is an attack or not. The word "places" is irrelevant. If it's not an attack, it cannot be a weak hit, and therefore, affinity does not matter.

Your phrasing made it sound like you assumed if the word "places" is used, it implicitly means it does not involve an attack - which is incorrect, as Carpe pointed out.
