The only issue you may see is that Nia's Ally Protect damage that she takes from crits will scale off her OWN Crit Damage number. That's the weird and silly way Ally Protect works. So you may run into issues getting solid enough hits to heal her.
I would more strongly recommend Regen, Regen + Immortal, Bolster, Bolster + Immortal or 3x Immortal.
Yeah, I was actually thinking about turning off her Ally Protect if it works. If not, Regen + Immortal sounds good, too. Haven't thought of that. I was thinking of putting her in a team with Elva and Doompriest.
Ally Protection is very strong, especially with a strengthen. I wouldn't turn it off just to try and make a lifesteal build work on a non-damage dealer, feels like one of those "cut off your own nose to spite your face" situations. :D

It is, but I am very curious of what damage/heals she's capable of producing with an AOE A1. That's why I was asking people if anyone has tried it, maybe someone can chime in. I'll try and report when I build her.

Hmm, I have a hard time seeing it. Her base defense isn't great and I think this runs a bit counter to what she should be doing.
I wish you the best of luck, though. =)
