Repeat after me: there is no such thing as a legendary shard.

There are only sacred shards which offer a very small chance at a legendary but guarantee an epic, and then ancients, which offer a small chance at an epic but guarantee a rare.

Manage your expectations and you won't be depressed.

As previously stated the yellow shards found in-game are not Legendary shards, they are called sacred shards and these only provide a very small chance of a legendary but guarantee an epic champion, though the chance is increased over an ancient shard(the blue shard).

It definitely can be frustrating not getting that champion your after, I mean ever since I started 8 months ago I wanted a Lysandra, though soon ... maybe 

I also think of the sacred shards as epics only and ancient shards as rares only, if I happen to get a champion I want or like, awesome!

I have invested more time and a little money and have opened 7 or 8 orange shards and no legendary from them.

same,i'm happy like you i opened 3 sacred shards last week and got 2 Jizoh in a row and another useless epic :)  all it's good

and 7 purple shards to get food  

now  i see how this game is done and i use shards  just for event :) 

oh and i play non stop the game, but in that day that i opened 50 + blue shards + 7 purples and 3 sacred . i played just for daily and i wanted  to delete the game

 + my day was ruinned and i got a depression 

I was very lucky to get my first legendary with the first sacred shard. I was blown away

But still getting a legendary doesn't mean that you have something really good, since my legendary is ok, but certainly not the best and he is weak in defense and/or hp

He is important to me for his debuffs and the way he can spread them out, though in auto he is using the attacks the wrong way around :)

But only late I noticed an epic which I feel can be great and she is given high votes. Futhermore, I do count more on a few of my epics (and even a rare for now) than on my legendary
