What affects how much area an OB controls?
That pretty much sums up my question. Thought I had a handle on it but clearly do not.

Level affects area but an obelisk of the same clan provides a push. Outters provide best territory and Corners provide the most

That is what I thought, but it's not the case. We took an edge OB and have it at level 3. It controls one cell. Another clan did the same one space below us, at level 3 they had several cells of coverage extending towards the edge. Neither of us had OBs contiguous to the edge OBs.

depends on the area coverage and their ranking
check the clans battling rankings on the Clan description - they may have better ranking then your clan
this always goes in effect as well, although the borders and outline gives a huge part of rank
