Seems like if an enemy gets points for hitting,do you not think that it fair,that the clan or person should also receive points for defending.As at the moment it is unbalanced

What points do you mean? When you participate in the battle, you always receive some points, no matter what you do - defend or attack.

You both get points, as if you defend you should get points too
that's not unbalanced, that my friend is playing a combat game

PvP defense reward points may just appear unbalanced due their lesser manageable forecasts. Unlike offensive actions, where you can predict the potential points gain, defense point rewards are determent on one more, unpredictable factor – the defensive power other people have sent.
So even if you have a few losses and don’t get any points as an compensation for their honorable deaths, it doesn’t mean that the redistribution is unbalanced by system, but only that it is influenced by the huge discrepancy between the force you sent and the total force actually defending. So if you want some solid PvP defense rewards, start sending some serious support and not just the junk you can live without.
