🏟️ Time to reveal the full story behind the Red Shift Map. Check it out below… 👇🏻
Red Shift used to be owned by X-Tek, but the employees sold it the first chance they got. It had been one of the oldest plants, built before the Trade Wars. Workers would complain about the lights flickering blue and tools vanishing, only to appear later hanging from the rafters. People would hear screams on the wind. Skeptics would tell you that it was nothing more than a creaky building. But everyone would clock out on time, before it got too dark. There was an unofficial buddy system in place. No one wanted history repeating itself.
Alek had never believed in ghosts. He would brush off his colleagues joking at work. One night, he stayed late to finish one of his projects, ignoring the warnings of others. The last anyone saw of him was Alek hunched over his desk, a steaming cup of coffee and a blueberry muffin to his side. When people clocked in the next day, he was gone. There were no signs of a struggle, although Alek’s engineering sketches had been scribbled on with red crayon. They were the only things found, next to his half-drunk coffee, leftover crumbs and a single blueberry.
People searched the facility from top to bottom for Alek. They checked vents and disassembled the machines, but found nothing. Months later, a janitor was cleaning one of the cupboards, when he found a small pile of crumbs. He dusted them up, thinking little of it. But a few days later, an engineer opened his locker and a wave of grain fell out, coating the floor. When he left to get someone and returned, they had vanished. Only a single blueberry remained. The facility banned baked goods to soothe panic, but the crumbs didn’t stop appearing.
After Alek disappeared, workers were determined to sell. But no one wanted to buy a haunted factory. Eventually the facility was auctioned off for a penny. For that price, the Mech Arena League couldn’t say no, much to the dismay of its Pilots. Now it’s one of the most unpopular Arenas to be assigned to, and has the highest transfer request rate. More than one Pilot has experienced their Mechs shutting down, or found their belongings hanging from the ceiling. Some have even discovered piles of crumbs, left by the alleged Blueberry Ghost himself.
