The Redox is an Attacker class mech. That puts it in the same class as the Panther, Stalker, and Guardian to name a few. 

The Panther, while an Uncommon, is a staple of every match. Even at 4* it can carry some beefy weapons, and the Stasis Barrier is insanely useful. 

The Guardian and Stalker are Rare, and both very useful. Guardian's System Crash can be a a lifesaver, whether stalling out incoming attackers, wiping out shields, or clearing debuffs off our teammates. 

The Stalker can be a MONSTER with it's Predator Drive active. Lower energy capacity is easily overcome with the boosted damage and kills that will heal you. Love this mech. 

And then there's the Redox. It's a Legendary. As such, it's expensive. However, it is slow. It is flimsy as hell. So to make up for it Caustic Blast must be lethal, right? 

No. It's not. At all. It's a minor inconvenience. It slows Mechs it hits and has a slight damage over time. However, since it is slow and flimsy, even slowed mechs can easily catch up and destroy you in not time. 

Let's compare that with the Zephyr, which is a Support mech. Slightly faster than the Redox, but with a very small profile. It's special Shock Pulse instantly shuts down every mech it touches in a 30m range. 

The Zephyr is at least one of the MVP slots in damn near every match I play, and why wouldn't it be? Throw on a couple of Arc Torrents and you can melt even the beefiest of tanks while they are shut down. Support? This thing is Field Commander of most matches. And if for some reason ammo is low, at the very least Shock Pulse gives you and anyone else who needs to ample time to escape. 

I've run from Zephyrs many many times. I've never ever run from a Redox, and in it's current state, I never will. It's such a disappointment. I realize it may get better when it's maxed out, but that's not required for other mechs. Guardian, Stalker, and Zephyr were game changers right at unlock and only got stronger as you levelled. 

Redox is not. If it's going to earn it's Legendary status, it needs a buff. Whether that's an increase in speed, durability, or a significant damage boost to Caustic Blast. I don't know. But it needs something. Otherwise, DO NOT waste your money or A-Coins.
