I don't wanna say anything for certain but I heard ember guns are the next weapon coming to gear hub for currency. Based on the release cycle of items so far it seems it will happen some time this month. I don't know about applying overheat. I thought they all applied the same amount of overheat per shot. I don't know tho.

Ember Gun fires 2 shots right after each other when you fire, after that the weapon reloads for 1,5 seconds and then you can fire again.

The first shot (if you fire with both sides) applies full Overheat (a mech with Overheat gets 50% more DMG when receiving DMG), which means the second shot actually does 50% more DMG than displayed in the stats. I don't know how long the Overheat stays but it stays longer than atleast 2 seconda which means if you land one shot on the opponent, all shots after that will have 50% more DMG, because the reload time is shorter than the Overheat duration.

Overheat adds 50% damage, so total of 1.5x.

They are certainly more prominent now than they were thanks to the rebalances to arcs. 

In regards to gear hub release, I have no idea. 

Whenever the Official mech arena channel talks about it, along with eclipse, they always say "it'll be available later" 

For other stuff, like cryo, they say "it'll be available soon"

I did ask them if it'll be before or after the heat death of universe, but I didn't get an answer... 

I haven't provided such info, though. It's curious from where did you hear it 😏

I'll debunk these statements - everything will be available later. There is no pattern of the Content becoming available for in-game Resources after its release

I'd say that it depends on your gaming style and skills. Both Arc Torrents and Ember Guns have their pros and cons
