Ruffles pointed out in a recent video that pod gun also will not get bonus splash damage upon hitting the flanks of mechs. This means I made a mistake before and it is in fact not a disk launcher replacement
You sure? 🤔 I watched videos from a few different content creators and they all showed back and side damage is attainable by the pods exploding. They were sticking on a wall.
Besides, they have completely different shooting mechanics. DLs shoot discs which are flying at the aim while Pod Guns throws sticky bombs getting stuck on a surface or an opponents

Yeah I saw the sticky bombs on walls hitting the flanks of mechs in scape211's video which came out before Ruffles' latest video about it and they appeared to get flanking damage in that one so perhaps it was a retroactive change after people made compa to disk launcher or somethin but yeah in ruffles' video I saw no bonus damage for hitting the flanks with the explosions
