Squad power cheaters trashing tournaments and playoff event making them worse than they already were
Players purposely making their hangars super lopsided in power for tournaments have been a problem quite a while now. Initially it appeared devs had been trying to resolve it. And I don't know whether they still are. The problem has only gotten worse as time has gone on. Between these players and whales, I can't come close to competing in these high tournament brackets like I used to be able to playing with a normal, well-rounded hangar. Not even scraps for a-coins anymore it feels really debilitating, especially because the a-coins from competition are crucial. Might be perhaps part of the reason these players do this, but these people have an unfair advantage over me and they're exploiting it. And even more people do it during these tournament oriented playoff events.
Squad power cheaters might be hard to deal with, and it seems devs have the right idea part of the solution is in matchmaking.
But I want you to solve something easier as well. This might not stop people from squad power cheating, but it would make the average player feel the effects of it less. That would be to make it less crucial to compete at the very top of grandmaster bracket. I think there should still be a reason for players to try and get there. It seems for a while now a few players have wanted rewards for the final bracket they place in. I'm one of them. Like, can I get a little something to show for even placing anywhere in grandmaster's at all? Maybe give even more to players who place grandmaster two days in a row. Please?
There's also the playoff event. Sometimes, like this week, it quite literally asks you to compete at the tippy top of tournament. If you still want to host a tournament oriented playoff event and have it be fair you're going to have to resolve squad power cheating itself or tweak that playoff event so it's not asking players to compete at the tippy top of tournament.
