RAID Golden Rules

Our Community is full of seasoned veterans and newcomers alike, so we tasked some of our long-term players with sharing their best advice! We've gathered up some of their top tips as voted-for by other Community members and put them into a handy guide for you.

Here it is:

  1. If you’re only just beginning, pick Kael as your starter. If you get lucky with summons, keep Rector Drath and Geomancer - trust me on this, they can carry you through almost anything. Shieldguard, Bellower, Apothecary, Paragon, Coldheart, and Alure all have extreme value as well and will serve you for a very long time, so don’t sacrifice them!
  2. It might seem obvious, but it’s actually easy to miss at first: the best XP Brew to level up a Champion is the one that matches their Affinity. They’re conveniently color-coded!
  3. Always keep some Uncommon and Rare Champions in your Vaults after reaching their first Level cap. They’ll be useful for Events that need to upgrade other Champions, as you’ll run out of Chickens quickly.
  4. Don’t forget your Daily Quests and raid the Spider’s Den for Silver.
  5. Start working on the Classic Arena early on. Upgrading Affinity Bonuses in the Great Hall will speed up many Missions later in the game. Don’t sacrifice Rare Champions until you fill out your Faction Guardians. You can deal plenty of damage to the Demon Lord even with Epic Champions if you have the correct Masteries. Speed is king. Never neglect it, and keep all Speed-enhancing Boots! Energy is limited, so try to save refills for days when you can take advantage of multiple Tournaments and Events. For example, Champion Training will require tons of Campaign Battles, which in turn provide Artifacts and Silver for Tournaments like Gear Hunter or Gear Enhancement.
  6. Arena Teams need 3 things: Speed, Speed, Speed. And more Speed on top. Don’t ever use Legendary Champions as Rank-Up sacrifice. Don’t ever use high-Rarity Skill Tomes on low-Rarity Champions.
  7. New players should always prioritize the Doom Tower after Clan Boss Battles. If you can clear every rotation, you’ll get 2 guaranteed Sacred Shards and Legendary Skill Tomes, and a lot of Energy and Gems on top of that. Champions Fragments are also useful in future Events and Fusions. And though the progress may be slow, it offers high-value rewards.
  8. Take the time to learn and understand advanced game mechanics as you progress through RAID. You don’t need to spend hours watching video guides - a bit of reading, observation, trial and error will get you where you need to be eventually. Remember, you can’t brute-force through everything in the game!
  9. Spider’s Den is best for farming Silver, Dragon’s Lair is best for farming Speed Set Artifacts. Never use Epic Champions as Rank-Up sacrifice - use Chicken instead. Use your Vaults! Don’t forget to check your Mission progress and complete them. Most importantly, play for fun!
  10. Prioritize the purchase of Lifesteal or Bloodthirst Artifacts once you start seeing Rank 6 Legendary pieces on the Market, and grab them for your strongest Champions (preferably Attackers with good AoE Skills).
  11. If you struggle with the Fire Knight on Hard Mode, you’ll need a Team with Neldor Rimeblade and a duplicate of his, one reviver, one Champion with an Ally Attack Skill, and someone with an HP Burn attack. Neldor is pretty easy to get since he’s an Epic, and his multi-attacks with Decrease Speed work wonders against the Fire Knight.
  12. Build a good Arena Team and farm Medals because upgrading your Great Hall is needed for some of the harder Arbiter Missions. Get to the Ultra-Nightmare Demon Lord Difficulty as soon as possible. Save your Gold Bars from the Tag Team Arena until you get a Mission to spend 85k of them.
  13. Don’t make the mistake I made as a new player and don’t sacrifice Legendary or Epic Champions early in the game. Even those that seem useless at first may become valuable as you progress.
  14. Accuracy is an important Stat as it’s needed to reduce Turn Meter, land and extend debuffs, increase the enemy’s Skill Cooldowns, steal or remove enemy buffs. Though some Champions have Skills that make those effects irresistible.
  15. Here’s some late-game advice regarding Gear: don’t immediately get rid of pieces from valuable sets just because of bad Stats. I usually upgrade Epics and Legendaries to Level 8; if both rolls get me the same Substat, I upgrade to 12. If all 3 rolls stack, you can use Chaos Ore to Rework the Gear piece - that’s how I got some of my best ones.
  16. It’s a good idea to farm the Minotaur’s Labyrinth and Potion Keeps during CvC Tournaments, as that’s the only Tournament that gives you points for those Dungeons.
  17. When you run into trouble with the Doom Tower, Cursed City, Grim Forest, or other such game modes, tap the ‘Best Teams’ button and look up both the Global and the Clan rankings. You’ll know what combos work that way.
  18. Here are a couple of pointers for Ally Attack Skills. Your Champions will attack in order of their position on the Team, starting with the Leader. Consider putting your debuffers ahead of the main damage-dealer to soften up the target. Though they need to have a Default Skill with a chance to apply debuffs for this trick to work. Also, if the target dies, the remaining Champions won’t attack. If you have someone with AoE Default Skill, keep them in front of the queue to hit the whole enemy Team!
  19. Don’t pour resources into upgrading every Legendary Champion. Do your research and prioritize the ones you need.
  20. Always join a Clan, no matter your Level. Be sure to take on a few Clan Quests during Clan vs Clan Tournaments - it benefits both you and your Clan!
  21. The Demon Lord Clan Boss offers a sure path to victory. It’ll be your primary source of Sacred Shards and, by extension, Legendary Champions. Build up your Teams for the Nightmare and Ultra Nightmare Difficulties to make the most of it. Work on improving and perfecting your Clan Boss Teams. I’m serious - it’ll be a huge game-changer.
  22. Don’t build your Teams for raw damage numbers alone. It’s often better to have one dedicated damage-dealer with supporting Champions, who can use things like Decrease Defense, Increase Attack, and augment the damage-dealer’s output in other ways.
  23. Don’t underestimate Poison and HP Burn. They’re often more effective than Skills that deal flat damage.
  24. Synergize Champion Speed. Why attack early if the same attack will hit much harder with correct buffs?
  25. The game isn’t just about Legendaries - many Rare and Epic Champions rock.

🌟Most importantly, just have fun at the end of the day, and enjoy the grind. No matter what you might’ve missed out on, remember that it’s just a game. You'll get there sooner or later. Probably later, but it's a fun trip!

As a new player I have no idea what 90% of this means, but what I did take from this is to hoard everything and spend nothing until I actually do undertsand it all

Spider gold is not so much about the silver it drops as the silver you get from selling the items it drops make up the difference between it and other dungeon.

Thanks, you’re right! Basically, Spider Dungeon, especially higher stages like Spider 20, is considered one of the best ways to farm Silver, since the accessories sell for big amounts and the Silver per energy is really good too.

Spider 20 (normal) is the most optimal for Spider events and spent energy + making silver ;)
