Live Arena and lazy people
RSL used to be one of those relaxing games where you could sit back in your comfy chair, drink your coffee, do your dailies at your own pace, and just enjoy the ride. Then Live Arena arrived… and honestly? It changed everything — in a good way.
At first, I thought: “What an amazing idea.” And it truly was.
Suddenly every match became a mind game:
- Which champion do I pick?
- What is my opponent planning?
- Are my artifacts good enough?
- Am I faster?
- Is their nuker going to delete my entire team in 3 seconds?
That tension and unpredictability made the game feel alive in a completely different way. Big kudos to whoever came up with Live Arena, because it added a whole new layer of excitement to RSL.
But then… the Lazy Arena Nation attacked.
Some players take the FULL timer for every single pick, every single ban, every single turn, every single skill. What should feel like fast-paced live PvP sometimes turns into a bedtime story narrated in slow motion.
Seriously guys, no jokes now:
Why are some people taking THAT much time to choose a champion or press a skill button?
Is it connection issues?
Are people multitasking?
Or is it actually a strategy to annoy the opponent into leaving so they can get a free win?
Because it gets really frustrating.
Personally, if both players are responding normally, most of my Live Arena battles are over in under 30 seconds — win or lose. Meanwhile, the pick/ban phase alone can take 3 minutes, followed by another 2 minutes of someone staring at their screen deciding whether to use A1 or A2.
At that point I’m aging faster than my champions.
Maybe the devs should reduce the timer significantly — perhaps 10–15 seconds per action instead of what feels like an entire lifetime.
I’m honestly curious what other players think.
Am I overreacting here?
Is this just the normal Live Arena experience?
Or do you guys also feel like some matches move slower than a Spirit Keep boss without Speed buffs?
Would love to hear your opinions. Thanks, fellow legends.
