crit rate and damage have the same effect on all champions, regardless of their type or what stat their skill damage scales from.

Exactly the same as on atk-based champions. Critrate indicates if the hit is critical, critdamage is a multiplier for critical hits.
If the damage of the champ is calculated by atk, def or hp doesn't matter to that mechanic.
