Been playing for like 3 months give or take and they keep putting me in battles against people who have obviously been playing for years. Can't even get a hit off most the time. This needs fixed badly.
Are you getting a quest to win a live arena? What level is your account? If you're under level 50 and not getting the daily quest, you shouldn't be in there. Unless you're spending quite a bit of money on your account to pull legends and buy chickens to get champs to 60, yeah, you're going to get your butt handed to you.
Oh I have many lol 60 legends with maxed skills and masteries and have spent a lot here. Its just the match up system that is out of balance. Though thinking about it I guess it needs to be this way cause if they tried to make closer match ups it might take 10 minutes just to find a match every match being not everyone at the same lvl ig is in live arena at the same time.

Well two things can be true at the same time. Matching purely on Player Power would lead to long wait times as youve mentioned but also the system does need an overhaul to help prevent super unbalanced matches.
I still say add in a filter to the matchmaker process that puts people in tiers based on spending habits.
Let the pay to win krakens only fight each other, and you could power the servers with a windmill from thier screams. 😜
