Live Arena does have a behind the scenes matching algorithm, but the OP has it completley wrong.  There is no value to be gained by reading this thread. 

Can confidently say I've never encountered this supposed obvious mechanic.  That said LA does still have plenty of other issues.

The game really wants me to believe, that right now, there's no other player available for live pvp with similar score and Acc. power ? I just wanted to highlight how live arena works, of course I'm not asking them to change it because that would be really stupid and naive of me.

That's kinda of a poor point you are making here. Both you and the other guy are in Gold 4. It's not like you were in Gold 1 and got matched against them. What is the top tire players suppose to do? Stay in queue for 10 minutes waiting for another 10+k player to search for an opponite? I had a score of 5500 and one day I faced 3 10+k opponites with one of them having a 22+k score. That was in my first 5 matches for the day. It really sucked too because I think I went 1/5 on my first set of matches. At least you got 5 wins and got to open your daily chest for the day. I've had days inbetween my chests before.

Have reached gold 4 in live, got my free lego (yippee), battles are pretty much matched the same as the seasons, some I win, some I don't. Gold 4 is everyone above the tier threshold, truthfully seem to be matched mainly with people with more points than me. Not really an issue. I will slog away until my faction wars area bonuses are completed, then call time on live. Set a target, reach the target, then leave it to the people who care. 

I am in Silver 2/3.  I only play LA when I must.  I have no illusions that I will ever finish any of the bonuses.  

I get some easy wins but dont care enough to play 5 battles even if I win them all.  

This also doesn't tell us anything about quality of the opponent.  If someone has a high ranking in LA the only thing we know for sure is they play it a bunch.

Gotta work on them hoarding skills.  

LA is trash right now, but during the Season it becomes even more ridicolous and unplayable. Today I won 3 out of 9 matches, 4 out of 10 if we want to count a BOT lol! 

You can understand, how bad a game mode is, when the game needs to use BOTS (BOTS !) to try to provide a vaguely 'fair' experience to its players. That's insane.

You can see the score of the opponents, their teams, and I also added the ACC power of some of them below, just to show how stupid the matchmaking is.

One of the opponents had 25k arena score and 47kk acc power lol.

Oh and the game also made me fight the same opponent two times in a row, after I lost the first match against him. Brilliant matchmaking.

Does arena have an actual matchmaking? Is it so hard for the game to find players players that have acc. power and LA score similar to mine ?

Pray tell, may I ask how matching me up 3 times with a bot with 5 top tier mythicals in double stoneskin (that couldn't be removed ) all fully awakened and 500+ speed meant to help me progress. They were a better team than most supposedly real people (odd how you ALWAYS get matched with same people at least twice each and every session)  I face. 

I always enjoy a fair fight
