This was definitely true of a majority of hard doom tower stages back in the day. 

I remember her and Duchess just giving me the super cheat code feeling for all of it. 

I always hated the stage 114 with all the Siphis and Rotos most. 

Those were the true pain. For the longest time had to run some crazy tm control team.

Then I got ramantu.

Another spot where lydia is super useful

IIrc I took about a billion tries with bellower in a stun set and yakarl in what i would now consider to be no where near enough speed or acc to get the right rng to keep them locked down enough to kill

Back in the day, I used to run the siphi/rotos levels on manual with a seer team IIRC.  Before that, I ran an unbooked elegauis to do lockout on the Siphis.   

Oh poor Elegaius.  Pretty sure he got a buff once.  Still forget he exists.

TBF, he is eminently forgettable.  

Very much so.  So many old school legos fall under that umbrella now.
