Crit rate 100%+, but still doesn’t crit?

Hello,

I started playing almost 2 months ago, and I've been hooked.

I recently got my EziI to a higher than 100% crit rate, but I've noticed that he doesn't always crit.

I guess my question is:

I am correct in assuming that the yellow damage means it was a crit, the red damage means it was weak or normal (maybe?) and the white damage is normal?

And also, does an opponent having a higher crit rate effect your crit rate?

So one of the key times I noticed the damage was white, not yellow, was in Nightmare Tilaria stage 1, where the champion had an increase crit rate buff on them, and it looked like my Ezio didn't crit.

Am I mistaken on something, or is there just a different formula to calculate crit rate percentage than just the stat?

You are mostly correct, but there are a couple mechanics in Raid that can make it look like you are not critting even when you have 100%+ Crit Rate.

Yellow numbers = Critical hit
White numbers = Normal hit
Red numbers = Weak hit due to affinity disadvantage

The important part is the weak hit mechanic. If you hit an enemy with affinity disadvantage, there is always a chance to land a weak hit, and weak hits CANNOT crit no matter how high your Crit Rate is.

So for example:
• Magic → weak against Spirit
• Spirit → weak against Force
• Force → weak against Magic

If Ezio was attacking a champion with an affinity advantage over him, the game can force a weak hit, which shows as red damage and prevents crits.

Enemy Crit Rate does NOT lower your Crit Rate. Their Increase Crit Rate buff only affects their own attacks.

Also, some skills in Raid are coded so they cannot crit, but for Ezio specifically, the most likely explanation is affinity weak hits.

Crit Damage (C DMG) is separate from Crit Rate. Crit Rate determines IF you crit, while Crit Damage determines HOW HARD the crit hits. Once you reach 100% Crit Rate, most players then focus on increasing Crit Damage because any Crit Rate above 100% is wasted.

So yes:
100% Crit Rate guarantees crits only when:
• the skill is allowed to crit
• the attack is not a weak hit due to affinity

Going over 100% Crit Rate does not increase crit chance further, so anything above 100% is essentially wasted stats unless buffs/debuffs are affecting your stats during battle.
