The Gemini needs to be fixed. This weapon is so broken.

The weapon isn't just broken because of how unfair it is, it is literally broken mechanically. This is generally true for every guidance weapons but the Gemini is exceptionally bad.

So many times I see the missile coming right to me. I get behind a wall or pillar and I'm 10+ meters away and it clearly hits the pillar but I still take damage.

The developers need to fix this shit because I've never played a single game where the weapon mechanics are this fucking poor.

That's because it has 5 meter damage radius, so if it hits anything within 5 meters of you then you take the damage,

It's the same with a lot of weapons, they have damage radius up to 10 meters, some even have implants for them so you can make that radius a lot bigger,

the game has always been like this with damage radius on most weapons

And pillars aren't normally 10meters big, so you must be within 5 meters of the hit

I think 5m damage radius is too high for Gemini. They should at least change the damage radius of Gemini from 5m to 3m because it's a laterally shooting weapon and does not need a large splash radius. Till they nerf Gemini splash radius, I'll stand 2-3m away from a wall to negate damage from a Gemini 🙂

I'm sure all guided weapons have a 5m damage radius, pod guns are the worst though with 9m 😅

I don't think they need nerfing though, because it will only make them useful in lower hanger matches then, savants are more annoying than geminis I think

I'm not a fan of nerfing anything tbh, they just should buff everything else up

Pods are unusable with 9m radius cuz you have a very low homing range, it's 9m damage radius is quite justified because it sticks to walls (and if the enemy is foolish enough to stand near those projectiles they get damage, but the damage won't pass through walls like Gemini)

It's not a big deal though, but it'll be much easier for players to "trust" a thin wall/obstacle if they need cover. Gemini is very spammy and we need reliable cover to atleast not die and defend our own beacons, whereas nobody faces such situation with Pod Guns even though it has the same reload type

Even I don't like nerfing things, but it's necessary to balance some stuff which makes the game unplayable and frustrating. Savants need a 10% damage nerf too, cuz even with a rank 3 Perimeter ML and Rank 2 Hardened Hull on my Nomad, it gets one-shot by a rank 5 Savant 8 :(

Yeah pods are mostly side hit of the wall I hate cos they still catch you from the side even if you're behind the wall

Once you get all maxed mech and maxed legendary mods, you will see what I mean about geminis, that damage radius is nothing and doesn't really affect you much, plus the gemini damage doesn't do too much and takes up to 4 rounds to actually kill anything, geminis are only good for hanging back in high power matches with either orion or outlaw, they're useless on anything else,

But yeah savants in high power matches can literally kill you so easy, normally 2 rounds and your dead with savants, even if you have all maxed mods and maxed everything, but it's mostly outlaws with maxed 16 savants I face so that's probably why, I use gemini 16s on my outlaw but I'd rather have savants 16s, I just haven't got any legendary implants for them though so no point in me buying them from the gear hub, I could buy the epics for 600 acoins each but I'd rather legendary ones, it makes a big difference having legendary over epics

No way 😕. It is the only op weapon we have in credits (10 energy).moreover since it is easily available to players there is no need to do anything like nursing it. I would seriously hate the game if they nerfed it.

The OP is not asking for a nerf.. he's just asking for cover to be registered better so you can't be destroyed when you're properly behind cover. I don't know what the cause of that bug is.. maybe it's lag.. but I've seen it a couple of times.

Obviously if you're on the edge of the cover and the gemini comes in an arcing trajectory on that side then you'll get hit, but there are times where it's good cover and we still get hit.

You're right, when geminis are fired the projectiles seem to explode when they hit something (like Storm rack missiles) and the explosion passes through thin walls and thin pillars, whereas it wouldn't be the case for any AoE weapon (unless you try to abuse splash radius and do side/back shots)

To defend against Gemini, we may need to stand behind thick obstacles (2-3m thickness is very safe) but on some maps such thick obstructions are difficult to find. It's better to fix the Gemini hitbox than to add more thick obstacles or to alter the thickness of already existing cover

its probably how guided trajectory works, a lot of guided weapons dont care if you jump over them or not they will get you anyway, so i just suspect the mathematics behind them are messed up.. i was also blaming lag, but i recently seen too many bugs to continue blaming lag for all bugs in game.

I recently seen enemy mech trapped under floor or something, it was visible on the map and it was a bit visible under floor jumping in epileptic convulsions. Thats not lag :)

Tbh, I think gemini is kinda bs. It has super high damage for a no-exposure weapon, pretty high range for one and a too short reload for one. And yeah there's many times you're DEFINITELY behind a wall but it apparently hits you anyway.

Just recently, I (with and ML perm mod) was chilling behind some pillar, not spotted or anything. Then, our of nowhere I instantly die from full hp because some gemini player across the map apparently hit me with one, like wtf?

I find it hard to tell even what plarium was thinking

"Hey, let's make a guided weapon that has the range of strike rockets, that hits harder than savant, has the arc trajectory of disc launcher, applies weaken and stasis, and has no indicator that it's coming at you whatsoever. Like all legendary guided weapons it has no minimum range. But it'll be 'balanced' because it has a semi-long reload and moves slowly and in a spiral."
