flaw in prevent capture of central control point objective

Hi, Plarium. The wording of this objective is usually "prevent your opponents from capturing the central control point in a battle". If the opponent captures the central CP clearly you don't meet the objective, but I've seen that this is also true if the opponent simply neutralizes the central CP.

This is either a bug in the logic of the program or in the wording of the objective. Could you please get it fixed, whichever it is? Thanks.

I think the logic is "flawed" because preventing opponents from capturing central beacon is simply the same as defending the central control point so that nobody can attempt to capture, because they have to get rid off your mech or a mech of your teammate. And According to me neutralization of a beacon is considered an attempt to capture it

They can say "Defend the central control point in a battle" to make it much simple. In some matches (very map dependent cases), it's a real challenge to defend the central control point due to spammy mechs/weapons.

Exactly.. and any attempt to capture it ends up also affecting the actual capture stat, which is confusing.

"Defend the central control point in a battle"

How would you define "defend"? "Capture" has a single, simple definition, so does "neutralize". If you define "defend" as "shoot at enemy trying to capture or neutralize your central control point", then that's not really much of an objective.

Yeah, "defend" is not very simple to define 😔 But that's what we have to do if we need to complete the quest

If it's only a question of terminology (let's see what Plarium says), maybe the best fix is simply to write "prevent your opponents from capturing or neutralizing the central control point in a battle" for the objective.

By the way there's a practical purpose behind my request for clarity. If it was only "prevent capture" then a viable strategy would be to capture the central point first, making it harder for the opponent to capture it (since they would have to first neutralize it).

If it is "prevent capture or neutralizing" then our capturing the central CP first makes no difference. The strategy changes.
