Such boosts are aimed to help new players catch up to the speed of the game.

While we understand that is what is for your giving away Tier 8 and 9 mechanism for free to new players. I missed my opportunity to get them as I didn't know about the codes when I started but now there are players coming in with much stronger mechs then mine. At this point it might actually be more beneficial for me to just start a new account to get one of them instead of having to grind for months or spend an obscene amount of money to get 

It matchmaking was fixed, the new players wouldn't need such a big boost to catch up.

That is the issue. Matchmaking is fixed. However it isn't for the players. They give new players a nice mech to get them to think they got something powerful and then they end up playing against harder mechs and now they feel they need to invest into the game via time or shortcuts with their wallets. In the end it is all about getting into that wallet.
