AOE is not the same for all weapons

IMO, there is no consistency for weapon AOE. I can have 16 rocket launchers hit a wall and do nothing to the mech on the other side. However, if it is a gemini or disruptor that hits, you will always take AOE damage no matter what you hide behind. It is rediculous.

Same applies for Helix racks, When I had a 2k SP hangar, I'd often choose Zephyr (my strongest mech at that time, but always get targetted by Helix Rack players). In a lot of matches, when I see the firing notification, I try to hide behind tall obstacles but still my Zephyr gets damaged, and in some worst cases gets one-shot if higher energy variant (like 10, 12 or 16 energy Helix racks are fired, even though I am staying behind proper cover)

well just yesterday i was standing behind a good wall and noticing my HP goes down quickly.. turns out the pod gun is fired at that wall and i get the damage through it, it was more or less my first time to see that from pod gun.. lets assume there is some super legendary implant that was giving it extra radius and it then thinks that it can go around the freaking walls to get you.. i also seen green splashes through the wall :) weird.. hard to comment things like that. We have no replays, so lets assume we are all seeing things and its all not real and not happening
