Kill stealing

Two types of kill stealing.

First, I kill an opponent, no one else hit him. I won't get the reward.

I shoot 99% of his lifepoints and someone other get the reward for the last shot.

But when I do 20% damage I won't get the reward.

Second, I kill mechs, say 5, and see the red skull. But at the end I get only 3 kills rewarded.

This has happened to me and it is because the target mech used self destruct to respawn faster. I seriously think that if a mech is actively taking damage and the pilot chooses to self destruct, the attackers should not be penalized by not getting points for killing or assisting in the kill. It doesn't make a lot of sense because you get credited for the amount of damage you do, but in 5v5 and free for all modes that doesn't count except for medals, not ranking.

Tournament FFA is where kill stealing shines, especially from bots. Usually bots would go for the players, but, it seems in FFA, they primarily target lowest HP first then players. So, with how quick their reflexes are and with the precision they have, they are in favor of killing stealing.

Plarium should change it to whoever did the most damage would get the kill. This, however, should be within a timeframe to alleviate damage farming (i.e. if you stop damaging the target for a few seconds, it turns into a neutral target again). That would make it much more fair.

Yup in the previous tournament format you made progress based on points, and in FFA damage had (and still has) the highest weightage in points. But for some reason ranking on the new format is based purely on kills.

Switching the ranking back to points is all they really need to do for this format. Should be simple. They still do calculate and show the points in FFA games.

I liked the old FFA point system so much better (not including the SP tankers). The points based on the damage you did should was great.
