That would make sense. And now it makes sense to me why popups will never actually change at all. Because the devs strictly don't want them to.
They keep saying they're looking into ways of "optimizing" the feature to make popups more manageable. Whatever that means. I have provided numerous suggestions for making popups more manageable over the years. I imagine other players have too. You'd think they'd be able to have figured it out by now. But no. Because every way of actually making them more manageable includes either removing them outright, reducing the overall number of them, making them less intrusive or letting players skip them. None of which the devs want to do.
Because the popups are intended to grab your attention, as annoying as they are. That's how they make enough money to justifify being there, as a support staffer told me. I suppose in other words that's how they can extract the maximum amount of cash from users.
I've suggested they get rid of popups. To make offers more engaging, actually give people enough time to collect a paycheck before they go away. Do longer sales. Weeks and months long ones rather than these short term offers which are designed to trigger FOMO. Make them less personally tailored and make them more for current META and gear that's buffed for a season.
I've suggested make it so not every offer in the shop pops up every time and only does so for offers that are new to the player (they haven't seen a popup for it before).
I've suggested 1 popup upon logging in after the ones for events and updates to offer to take players to the shop if they click the shop button on that popup instead of closing it. So if the players choose they can go and follow the link on the popup to the shop so they can view the offers there.
I've suggested a button be added to popup offers to skip all of them again so players who don't wish to engage with the offers don't have to.
Crystaldrew's comment was basically a contradiction spelling out the truth before our eyes. They say they're looking into ways to making the popups more manageable. But the answers have been staring them in the face all along. They just don't want to do anything we want them to do which would actually make the popups more manageable. And over these years, the minimum and maximum amount of popups that can appear on most days when they do appear has only ever increased, making them less manageable.
In short, plarium has been lying to us and misleading us about what they're doing about popups for years. And they won't change popups out of greed. And I'm at a boiling point. All the while they've been contradicting themselves. This is why I constantly demand transparency recently by the way. They don't often say why things are the way they are. They don't often explain the intentions behind things. But when they do it tells me exactly what's wrong. I imagine that's why we've had difficulty getting transparency out of them over the years. I can just tell them exactly how they're wrong for the way they've done things.
