Hangar contention and mech with stars
Hangar contention: I have 4 mechs instead of 5, all mechs have 3 stars, total 15 stars, so league 3. How is it possible that I encounter mechs with 6 stars?

You all get 6 stars for the match, regardless of what your hanger says. When it starts, everyone gets the max.
Personal stars are only for matching.

The problem is that matchmaking this way can pit players with inherently weak mechs they starred up against inherently strong mechs that weren't starred up. Plus, the weak mechs are more likely to have weak weapons.
Might get more even matchmaking to match mech strenth values, not stars.
