Anyone playing Mech Arena on PC?

Anyone playing Mech Arena on PC? Asking for a friend 😉

I thought about setting up the game on my laptop (even thought of getting a gamepad) until a YouTuber (forgot the channel's name) said that reaction time is faster on your iPhone and/or iPad than on a keyboard and mouse. Further reading on Reddit result in varying opinions.

So, does anybody have a firsthand testimonial to the superior gameplay on PC, or should I just stay on my iPad?

Thanks for the reply🙂

Assumimg that you started playing Mech Arena on a mobile device before moving on to a laptop, did you notice a major improvement in the gameplay? Is reaction time better or worse? Would you recommend playing Mech Arena on a laptop?

Thanks again!

I switched from phone to mostly laptop (with mouse) a while ago. I definitely face connection issues on PC more frequently, but the playing experience is much better for two reasons - bigger screen and reduced multitasking of fingers. Being able to move, turn and fire independently is a huge advantage on PC.

What you said is reason enough for me to seriously consider switching to a laptop.

By "connection issues on (your) PC", do you mean lagging? If so, how long do the lagging episodes last? I mean, are they just short annoying pauses, or do they last long enough that you are unable to operate your mech to the point that the opposing team gets the upper hand?

I really appreciate your input, and I'm sure that it also helps players in the community who are interested in playing Mech Arena on their laptop.

Thanks again!

No probs :-).

Usually it's broken connections, meaning I'm completely locked out, and it typically lasts a few seconds. But it's not so frequent that it makes me rage quit the game :-). Even if I lose a match because of it, the pros still outweigh the cons. (Not to mention that similar issues happen on mobile, although seemingly less frequently.)

My sense (unconfirmed) of how badly it affects a game is that it depends on whether you're facing only bots or also humans. With bots you lose time, but it resets the field to some extent, which is a good thing and to Plarium's credit. So, e.g. if I am on the verge of killing a bot and the game halts, when it starts again my weapon is back to its original state (rounds restored) and the bot is back to its original health and I can try again.

So, overall, it's infrequent enough and sometimes even recoverable.

That certainly is a ringing endorsement for playing Mech Arena on PC. You just convinced my friend (me😂) to switch.

Good hunting out there!
