Playing on Linux

I know it's not "supported", but has anyone had any luck getting this game to work on Linux via emulation?

I've tried Lutris and a custom Wine set-up, but no luck so far.

How to Play Mech Arena on Linux

To play Mech Arena on Linux, you will need the following:

  • Steam
  • ProtonUp-Qt
  • Plarium Play launcher
  • A Plarium account (email + password login).

You cannot log in using Google or other external services.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Install Proton GE using ProtonUp-Qt
    • Open ProtonUp-Qt.
    • Add the latest Proton GE version to Steam.
    • The version that works best for me is Proton GE 10-28.

2. Configure Proton in Steam

  • Open Steam.
  • Add the Plarium Play launcher as a non-Steam game.
  • Right-click the launcher → PropertiesCompatibility.
  • Enable “Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool.”
  • Select Proton GE and choose the latest installed version.

3. Run the Plarium Launcher

  • Launch the Plarium Play launcher from Steam.
  • Wait for all required files to download.

4. Log in to Plarium

  • Enter your email and password.
  • Do not use Google or any other third-party login method.

5. Download and Play Mech Arena

  • Download Mech Arena from within the launcher.
  • Once installed, you can start playing without issues.
