I have an idea sort of similar
"Respect the mech. Earn its power.”
SONIC— The Resonance Spider
Core idea:
Sonic is a spider-style mech built around giant speakers. Its abilities and appearance change depending on which role it's using. The main philosophy is:
“Respect the mech. Earn its power.”
🔊 Four Role Modes
🛡️ Tank — Bass Drop
Heavy defensive mode.
Speakers generate powerful shockwaves.
Can reduce incoming damage and push enemies away.
Slower movement while active.
❤️ Support — Resonance
Creates an area around Sonic that repairs/supports nearby allies.
Focuses on keeping the team alive rather than dealing damage.
🏃 Scout — High Frequency
Increased movement speed.
Can detect/reveal enemies.
Designed for quickly moving around the map and gathering information.
💥 Attacker — Overdrive
Speakers concentrate their energy into powerful sonic attacks.
Higher damage but reduced mobility.
Designed for aggressive attacks.
Mechs Main Ability:
🕷️ Main Ability — SONIC HEADBUTT
Sonic charges forward and slams its head into the ground if it doesn't colide with an enemy(colliding with an enemy has the same effects anyway)
Effects:
Large AOE damage.
Stuns nearby enemies.
Launches Sonic into the air.
A gyroscope lets the player control Sonic while airborne.
Sonic chooses where to land.
💥 Ultimate — SYSTEM CRASH
When Sonic lands, it creates a massive sonic/EMP shockwave.
Important drawback:
The System Crash affects everyone on the map, including Sonic's allies.
It can temporarily disrupt weapons/systems, making it extremely powerful but risky. A bad landing could hurt your own team.
⚖️ Balancing
Sonic is deliberately powerful, but it has serious weaknesses:
No implant slots.
Abilities have significant cooldowns.
Sonic can be vulnerable while airborne.
Enemies can see where Sonic is going to land.
Missing Headbutt causes a recovery penalty.
Giant speaker components can be targeted and damaged.
System Crash can affect allies.
Sonic's strongest abilities shouldn't be easy to spam.
❤️ RESPECT SYSTEM
Sonic cannot simply be mastered by buying upgrades.(Buying upgrades is really really really expensive 3k-A-coins base)
The mech has a Respect/Mastery system that rewards players for using it skillfully.
Good gameplay increases Respect:
Accurate ability usage.
Correctly switching between roles.
Protecting teammates.
Smart use of abilities.
Effective movement and positioning.
Poor gameplay lowers Respect.
At higher Respect, some of Sonic's negative effects become less severe.
For example:
Low Respect: System Crash removes 100% of the current magazine.
High Respect: System Crash only removes 50%.(Allies only)
Other penalties could similarly become weaker as the player becomes better with Sonic.
🌈 MAXIMUM RESPECT
At maximum Respect, Sonic becomes an RGB-style mech.
Its lights change depending on its role:
🔵 Scout
🟢 Support
🟠 Attacker
🔴 Tank
🟣 Ultimate charging
🌈 Maximum Respect
The lights could pulse in sync with Sonic's speakers and abilities.
🏆 HOW TO UNLOCK SONIC
Sonic should be earned rather than directly purchased.
Players could unlock it through difficult challenges, mastery, or a special event.
The goal is that when somebody sees a highly upgraded Sonic, they know:
“That player actually earned that mech.”
🎵 THE DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
Sonic is inspired by the idea that:
“A song has many parts, but they all make one whole. The words are only the beginning.”
The spider body, speakers, music, role switching, RGB lighting, abilities, Respect system and weaknesses are all separate parts that come together to create one unique mech.
Tagline:
“Respect the mech. Earn its power.
