I don't trust plarium, at all

To begin, I don't mean to encourage people to quit. Nor to cause an immediate massive disruption in the player base. I just wanted to share my thoughts about plarium and the mech arena team's communications.

Every time there's a complaint about matchmaking the response is "we're constantly working on the matchmaking making gradual improvements, we hope you see an improvement soon" or whatever. Press them with more questions like "when exactly could we expect to see improvement?" or "what are you actually doing to make the matchmaking experience better"? They answered the former question once, the latter never. And most of the time if you wait long enough and can appear to improve a bit for a short few days, before refore rebounding back and ending up WORSE than the matchmaking we complained about. I made this complaint before that we often got improvements but they never lasted and the team I guess noticed it because I finally got to experience about a month of decent matchmaking.

After that, it's just been the same patters. "Please be patient [blah blah blah]". Ask the questions "when exactly can we expect to see improvements in the matchmaking?" and "what are you actually doing to improve the matchmaking experience?" No answers.

Then there's gear hub releases. Plarium as far as I know doesn't have a strict timeline for gear hub releases. They just arbitrarily decide when to release what equipment. And at least up until rece popular stuff took longer to make it to gear hub. So I inquired about it. Staff freaking lied to all our faces and said the opposite was true. Only just recently has what they say and what they do been aligned in that department. But for the longest time it was a complete lie. (Now watch me get banned for accusing staff of lying even though they 100% factually were)

And we all saw what happened with voidghost. Most generous interpretation of the situation is we can take them at their word there was a genuine breakdown in communication within the mech arena team, causing a failure to properly communicate with players what their actions regarding voidghost would be. And I don't think anyone who's been paying attention really believes the generous interpretation to be true. But yet I don't think it's because this exact situation happened before. No most people just mentioned it was really conspicuous the timing of the NERF and everything. Most players seem to have forgotten already this type of thing happened before, with burrow beams. Burrow beams released as just a completely overpowered weapon. We're talking about a medium ranged weapon that killed faster than close quarters weaponry that could also tunnel through mechs and mod shields and deal full damage to every target. Only later did they tell us it was an unintended mechanic but at least it was well before they NERFed it as opposed to using it as an excuse after NERFing it like with voidghost.

Ironically though that's the only thing that makes me think the lack of communication in regards to the voidghost NERF was just a genuine failure. Because they happened to communicate the NERF of burrow beams ahead of time. Everyone knew they were going to be NERFed so the vast majority accepted it even though I don't think anyone accepted their reasoning that burrow beams weren't meant to totally bypass shields. But it's also another reason I have a hard time believing them. Because what I think actually happened there with voidghost is it came out and immediately a bunch of people said "what the hell do you mean this thing can damage me while I can't damage it in return" and internally the team went "crap, we messed up again and made a totally overpowered piece of equipment that our players hate. We gotta NERF it. But we don't gotta tell them about it this time. They accepted the quick burrow beams NERF. And uh, there's no reason to sully the idea of purchasing it while the crate rush is ongoing so at least don't tell them while it is."

This is why I can't trust plarium. They said that their failure to communicate ab the voidghost NERF was an honest mistake and not up to their internal communication standards. I wasn't aware they had any. Poor communication is the norm here and I've made that complaint numerous times. I just refuse to believe it's not deliberate at this point. They're saying they'll do better communicating plans for NERFs next time. I say they need to improve their communication all around. And I think perhaps at least one person needs to be fired. Most likely from upper management because being real I know in the vast majority of cases these problems come from the top down.
