another flawed tournament "test" going on?

My hangar has max 5 star mechs and weapons and no mods. The ongoing 5v5 tournament is pitting me against almost maxed out bots. All of them are 6 stars with 6+ stars weapons and pilots. I'm getting points mostly for assists since my mechs are not nearly powerful enough to face the opponent mechs head on :-).

The "test" label for the tournament says maps will be selected randomly. Looks like Plarium has left out a more crucial detail about this test.

Plarium, what's the idea?

Hello! Thanks for your feedback. As you know, our team is constantly working on the Matchmaking, so it's possible that some tweaks may happen. We will keep an eye on the Tournaments and feedback related to them!

CrystalDrew, what kind of tweaks are we talking about here? The kinds of bots I'm suddenly facing are obviously incorrect for my hangar. Do you really need feedback to know this is the wrong thing to do?

I'll give credit when credit is due so on that note, the current change actually is way better than any other previous change/. Haven't seen an sp dropper yet that is dominating in any bracket. This change even got the sp droppers complaining on Facebook 😅

For every match test it seems like they are starting from scratch. Which I don't get. Regardless I'm certain they mean based on reports of mismatches (or lack of if there ever was a lack) when they say "feedback" because that's about the only feedback they tend to get.

Lol what a joke. Love how plarium releases changes to live servers with no announcements or testing.

Game is unplayable, my strongest hangar can't even compete with bots.

Tournament matchmaking is disgusting, 1v1 vs higher SP hangar and bots are stronger than both of us. Why even bother having players just let us press "match" and let AI decide who wins or loses

What a joke

They went from 10% of matches being bad to 100% of matches being bad. Why would I even bother playing

Yeah, the bots on the other side are out classing most of my bots now. Plariu it isn't fun to lose against bots all the time.

The only thing the MA mob crew "tests" is how far they can manipulate the game to cheat and how far they can push us to spend money on shop novelties. This isn't a test for them to get information on balance issues, all their tests are to gain information on people's moronic bad spending habits. They won't ever listen to or consider our feedback to help fix balance issues and they won't change their greedy ways either. Everyone knows that this game is programmed by the development crew to cheat.

I don't think the devs realize the game is 100% unfun vs 10% unfun from before. I basically went from playing 10-20 matches a day to 2-4 matches a day and only because I want fortune keys from tournaments. And those matches makes me sick.

Getting 1shot 5 times a match and watching AI duke it out for sure is peak gameplay...

Don't understand what they are thinking or if any testing was done whatsoever.

I guess forcing people to stop playing is their end goal? I'm just gonna log in daily for free stuff and not play anymore until they fix matchmaking.

If that's true it's a nice silver lining :-). On the other hand, Plarium could have achieved the same thing simply by having all bots be as strong as the strongest mech in your squad. That would have made SP dropping less attractive without making things impossible for regular players.

I won't go into what "as strong as" can mean. There are simple, effective options.

I don't know what state the test is in right now, but if the idea is to stop SP droppers from earning crazy amounts of points, it's not working.. or at least not working any more if it was working for a little while. The top two in my heat are SP droppers with the standard Dreadnaught-centric build.

Hi, CrystalDrew. A little transparency on what the test is doing would be super helpful.

My observations:

1. The bots appear to have come under control, maybe not completely but for the most part.

2. Matchmaking with humans appears to be no different than before.

3. Tankers (aka SP droppers) rule the heats just like before. All 5 of the top 5 in my heat (I didn't check more) are using the SP dropper meta - Dreadnaught.

It would be interesting to hear other people's experiences, especially at different SP levels (these days I'm playing mostly at 4.5k-5k SP, which is my max).

Thanks for the feedback! Currently, there are no actual Matchmaking tests (however, they may come in the future).

However, as I mentioned in the comment above, work on the system is in progress, and gradual changes to the system are quite possible.

Thanks but the original post isn't about human players matchmaking. It's about the bots being overly powerful all of a sudden.

The only reason I brought in SP droppers is because one of the content creators said in his video that the devs had told him that this current series of tests was meant to thwart SP droppers. So I included the observation that, if indeed that is the case, it doesn't seem to be working. Whether or not that's the case, the bots being over-powered was real as mentioned in my original post and as corraborated by other players in this thread.
