My hanger power is currently 2172, and this person was in a match. I could barely do anything they killed me so fast. This isn't even the biggest difference I've faced.

Our team is constantly working on improvements to the matchmaking system. Surely, sometimes, it can perform somewhat incorrectly due to the flexible balance we have and abusers who are trying to trick it. Nonetheless, we are developing ways to prevent such conditions!

For now, we'd recommend shuffling your Hangar a bit and teaming up with your friends who have approximately the same SP compared to yours. Try to make Matchmaking work for you!

Still, how can someone with this line up be that low with hanger power? The numbers are fake in this game and this is legal cheating. I don't really think the person that this account belongs to did anything wrong. They used a system that you set up. I don't even have an epic meach, but this line up is only 2500 hanger while mine with only rare mechs, 1 legendary weapon(which I won) and 1 epic weapon, with the rest being uncommon and rare is currently at 2251. This line up should be at least 5k. And again, mods with only 3 stars? Who decided to change it from 3 stars to 6 stars? That is pretty idiotic having them mix with us new users who can't get modes because 6 stars take forever.

If you use Mods on any Mech, I suggest removing them. Remove everything from all mechs and pilots, Remove everything from hanger and log out for the night or wait 6-8 hours for a server reset then rebuild your hanger WITHOUT any Mods installed. I try to not even use legendary pilots because I've noticed they also mess with game experience in a hard core negative way as well. If this "big update" includes a complete restructure of their shady business practices, things might get better. Otherwise, this game will just remain a gimmick.

I haven't begun to use mods yet, but I second your observation about legendary pilots. The silliest, smallest things drastically upset the matchmaking. For example:

1. Using legendary pilots, as you've said, or upgraded legendary implants causes you to be pit against players / bots with legendary mechs and weapons.
2. (a recent observation) switching weapons between two mechs in an existing squad. Same squad power, same damage and defence capability, but suddenly more powerful opponents.

Clearly whatever matchmaking rules exist are unnecessarily complicated, and it's possible that the reason Plarium is taking so long to fix matchmaking is that they are making the rules more complicated instead of simplifying them (or, as is a common, believable opinion, they don't want to fix the matchmaking).

In general, what you're pointing out in this thread is something lots of people have pointed out. At its core, matchmaking is based on squad power, but mech and weapons power values do not match their true "power", especially legendary mechs and weapons. A simple revision of power values is a first step if SP based matchmaking is to continue.
