Game improvements since 2024

So this is an overview on game improvements since 2024 and I am happy to say that the game has gotten better since then but there are also some downsides.

EVENT CRATES

Most event crates don't need money anymore and players can use a-coins or credits to attempt to get the weapon/mech/pilot but chances are absurdly low. On 5 march there was a viper event to get a 50% chance at viper 6,8,10,12,16 at rank 4 so as to not overly buff new players. Plus I think this is the first step for mech arena to a less P2W type of game.

MECHS AND WEAPONS

So far the Devs have been busy adding them but they are mostly legendaries. I think that there have only been 2-4 non-legendary weapons/mechs added so mech arena has to add more epic, rare and uncommon weapons. I have a feeling that the high number of legendary weapons and mechs are affecting the matchmaking

GAMEMODES

The Devs have added 1 new game mode so far -onslaught. I think we need more gamemodes as things get kinda dull if you keep playing. Maybe something that has to do with CTF but no seekers allowed.

MATCHMAKING

How did it get worse?

We are preparing something new for the Matchmaking system, but it's too early to reveal more details. Stay with us; improvements are coming 😉

I do have a suggestion for the matchmaking system. Because there are too many legendary weapons, it throws the matchmaking off and it cannot find players that are within the correct power range to battle so it gives the weaker players stronger ones. One of the ways to fix it might be to introduce more epic, rare and uncommon weapons or to increase the power gap between the weapons like this:

Common +0

Uncommon +50

Rare+100

Epic+250

Legendary+500

I think that this system would do as viper 6 at rank 4 has lower power than a weapon that does LESS damage than it so this is basically SP dropping

You and the previous community managers over the past three years (close to four now) have been saying the same tired rhetoric with no improvements...ever. When are you going to stop lying to the players since you're never going to implement so called 'improvements' anyway 🤦

Community Managers don't spread lies, as we don't aim to mislead you. However, it's pretty complicated from the inside, so that's why it takes so much time and effort to get some of the issues fixed.

Your response is so inaccurate, I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry 🤦

This is a comment from two years ago about the matchmaking. Similar responses you are giving players right now and still no action as of today. So yes, you are spreading lies and misinformation. Maybe not intentionally because you're paid to do a job...

Can't agree with you. A ton of work has been done since these messages. We have significantly adjusted the Matchmaking system, as back in the day, it was abused much more heavily than now. Nonetheless, the following updates must turn the tables more considerably, so stay tuned 🌝

You can't be for real with this, "significantly adjusted the MM system as compared to back in the day" is not true whatsoever. There are more MM abusers now than ever before! And the MM itself still puts a full hanger of 4 star mechs and weapons against a full hanger of maxed pink star mechs and weapons. It's not this so called "skill based MM" either because sbmm isn't in this game.

I often try to give you guys (Plarium) the benefit of the doubt, but I have to agree with the others on this one. For instance, since last year, matchmaking changes have allowed people with wildly different SPs to compete with each other. You sometimes do this in "tests", and sometimes silently as seen these past few weeks. So, either you (Plarium) are not being genuine, or you genuinely think that such mismatches are an improvement meaning you are not on the same page as your players.

Many people, myself included, have offered simple ideas as baselines for matchmaking rules. One example is to only match hangars with SPs within some percentage of each other. Another is related to tiers. Another is related to legendary mechs/weapons vs. others. You don't comment on the ideas themselves (as far as I can tell), ideas that are trying to address the worst problems for the players, and that silence contributes to the distrust.

Even if you don't want to spend time debating the ideas, many people, myself included, have offered you a simple solution to at least partly address the distrust - start sharing what specifically in matchmaking your updates are trying to solve. You don't have to give details, but enough for us to have confidence that you're hearing us and focusing on the actual problems.

So far, I don't see you guys doing either of these things, and instead you are making matchmaking worse. By process of elimination, you (Plarium) are doing so on purpose.

Do you think the distrust is misplaced? If so, on what basis?
