how do playoff event leaders get so many points so fast?

A lot of people do it so I'm not complaining. Just curious. This event started just a couple of days ago. Already the leader has 180,000 points!

i

It's not the battles. They've barely played a few hundred. It's not the daily objectives or the XP or the logins. It's just been a couple of days.

i

So, given the other objectives, it's either that they purchased thousands of prodigy and amateur crates or purchased 180,000 acoins in these last 2 days. Right? But if so, why do that just to earn a measly 10,000 additional acoins from the event?

It's not just the leader though.. many others have insanely high scores, but the leader is definitely a class apart. I am genuinely very curious.

If you haven't noticed already, this whole game is rigged with unfair game balances and highly manipulative tactics by the devs to benefit those who pay large sum of money for the game and to continue to spend

They will say all kinds of excuses to make it feel like they are doing things to fix, but you can soon realize they are all BS and nothing will ever change in this game for the better, but only for the P2W and SP droppers

Moderators or anyone with insight, please weigh in here. Are these legitimate scores?

Hello! According to the Objectives of this Event, it's possible to gain such a score, so it's highly unlikely that cheating will occur.

My last question ("are these legitimate scores") was poorly worded and may have given the impression that I was asking if this is cheating. I don't think it is cheating since the number of people with huge scores is quite high.

What I really meant to ask is if my assessment of what the leaders are doing is correct? In this case, spending potentially hundreds or thousands of dollars to buy acoins and crates to receive so many points? If so, that's totally fine and their choice, but if not, I'd like to know since I might be missing something.

To be honest, the real problem is that big spenders are being thrown in with free to play players.

If 100 people are in an event bracket and 50 are free to play, the free to play players are actually competing with 100 players, the 50 paying players are only playing against 50 players.

The actual percentages are a lot worse than the above example, but the point is the same.  Free to play has no chance at these events.

Agreed. You have to either spend a lot of money or a lot of time (e.g. for the events that reward higher counts of battles / wins). I don't know if there is an easy fix for this though.

That said, I just realized that there is one way for f2p players to compete in events like this particular one, but they have to play the long game. If you get enough fortune keys (approx. 10,000 per some shady mental maths), then you can acquire a large number of acoins from some of the vaults on a lucky day. The first few thousand fortune keys exhaust most of the skins, and the rest get credits and acoins at a higher probability. The luck being that you get predominantly acoins instead of credits.

So it is, after all, possible. The long game is life-long but we can't say it is not possible :-).

You make a good point on the fortune vault stuff.

Of course, now they are going to nerf those percentages.  LOL  JK (I hope!)  😂

I agree with both of y'all. The match making in the tournaments (straight wack), as well as with the insane high scores in those brackets ill never get there in points. Yeah ive spent a little bit of monies to get a couple of mechs as well as weapons, but I'm talking maybe $150usd just to get a somewhat decent lineup just to attempt to compete with anyone really. The rest of everything i have been grinding my backside off to aquire. Don't even think you can 6 star rank anything without dropping some major coin (not Acoin), or grind your to get 200-300 Acoin a week. You do that, and save every week for the next 3-4 months. You just might have enough to 6 star - 1 mech, 1 pilot, and 1-2 weapons. And maybe in 2 years doin it like that you can have a 6 star like up. It's truly not fair (and im not whining). But really slow down bringing out new mech, and weapons every couple of days to every week, use that knowledge that everyone has given,  with the computer design degree you have and fix the game. You should have plenty of money to pay your staff with what you're making in from the thousands if not millions of people dumping money into the game. But this is my opinion and sorry for the rant.

imo, they need to fix tournament and playoff brackets so you only get matched with people near your SP, won't fix too much, but atleast it'll keep away whales from most people.

I agree. Coming from a F2P guy who still doesn’t have enough A-coins to replace his Tier lll/IX build, I literally just did what they said. Ive been saving for about 3 months and just yesterday bought Particle Beam 6 (though I should’ve saved up for Chain Gun. Darn it!) And now the acting game begins. After logging off yesterday night, my credit count was 20,056. I had a fun new weapon, but now it will take 3 more months and the agonizing pain of watching OP new weapons get released (that I will never be able to get), I will be able to buy another half-decent weapon. *Sigh* Oh, the toils and troubles of a F2P. If only the pain was nonexistent.

P.S. Is it just me or are we slightly overdue for a new Onslaught campaign that F2P’s can actually play through the entire thing?
