The problem is that they see they have a certain amount of points and before they can use them the amount changes! Very strange.... as far as I know only elders and chief can actually procure items.

Constantly happening to myself and clan members. I've watched it go from 55, 530, 560, 700, 9000, 300. This is very badly designed game, I think the devs may be five year old kids, playing with coding at school.
Unfortunately when I thought this might be a good game I bought gold, but then that's how they have conned most of us, no development in game, and make it as difficult as possible to play without.
