About craft hero's gear.

By performing tasks and attacking invaders etc you can obtain materials. The materials you get are stored in the Forge and the materials are divided by quality: Simple (grey), Usual, Unusual, Rare, Epic and Legendary.

If you find 4 of the same material and quality you can combine these to 1 of the next better quality (if you have 16 of one quality you can thus combine it to the second next quality).

The materials can then be used to forge equipment that your Hero can use; Helmet, Armour, Amulets (2), Weapon and Boots. Each equipment have their own special enhancement depending on the materials used; one may give extra Food production, another gives extra healing. This way you can give yourself a really good boost in your status. Material bonuses as well as places where you can find them are detailed on the Materials page.

Pieces of equipment are made of 2 to 4 materials. An item made with 4 materials has 4 bonuses while an item made with 2 materials only has 2.

The cost of crafting pieces of equipment is based and the level required to use it, which is paid as silver and is 10K silver per level required. To craft a standard equipment level 50, it will cost 500K silver. Prices for invaders equipments are much higher though.

By clicking on the Equipment tab and select an equipment type you see a menu of what items you may create in your forge. First you see a list of requirements (level of hero, silver, materials) and then a color-coded table of what type of enhancement you get and how likely it is to get that level of boost. Note that the colors reflect the materials you have available and the better quality the higher boost this item will give. If you have several different qualities of material you get random results, the chance to get a specific quality of equipment is indicated on the table before crafting. If you only have one quality you are guaranteed to get that type of equipment.

When you press the craft button you'll see the materials used and note the circle in the middle there the colors indicates how likely it is to get a certain quality. You can click on the materials and change selected quality of the materials. The best quality available is automatically selected so in practice you can only lower the expected quality so it is of limited use, except when you are willing to accept a lower quality item because you want to save the higher quality for another equipment.

You can also destroy an item which gives you back randomly one of the material it was made of, not all.

I hope it was useful for you guys!

Good info! I have a question, though. All the boosts the hero receives from his equipment - does it only stay with the hero? For example, if the hero marches with a troop to gather resources, does that group get the bonuses and not any other  resource locations with other troops? And if hero is in town, does the town get the benefit?

Yes, you are absolutely right! Note, that economic boosters are always working, no matter where hero is now.

ok noob question now, I crafted both a helmet and a weapon but when I click on my hero they are not showing in the armor slot.  Does this mean they are automatically worn?  When I click on the helmet space, the crafted item is there but the option to 'Equip Hero' is greyed out.  Have I done something wrong or not done something I should have lol?

Is your hero at home, you can't equip otherwise.  Also I think your equipment level has to be at or below your hero level.  For example a Bewitched Helmet is level 50, so a level 20 hero can't equip it.

Correct the item has to be of equal or lesser level than the Hero, Also if you have multiple sets only one can wear it at a time.

oh.. well. it's true, you can make a gear but if your hero has no lvl, you will can't wear it.

I have a question about Special items. If i want to craft an item (for example Ragnars Helmet) and one of the crafting materials is a fur hat, would it be beneficial for the fur hat to be Legendary or simple. I presume it gets destroyed in the crafting

I'm interested in what quality this material will be and if it makes sense to destroy equipment altogether?

I have just had a  look myself.

Unless  I am mistaken and its something else..

Though it starts off on the helmet when you first open the forge, the glowing circle surrounds the thing you looked at last, and remains there when you switch between  pages.

If you are forging something, then from memory, I believe you can find  an animated circle around whatever is being forged.

okay i know this is a question you probably have heard a million times but im confused now..

i was told that all gear has to be same color in order to use it..

but then was told put the gear on even if not same color and just change as you are able to upgrade to next higher level color..

 please which is correct?

No gear doesn't have to be the same colour to use it.

The decision to build early and upgrade when you can or wait and only build legendary is entirely yours.

Remember though your hero can only wear equipment according to his level and the equipment level.

Forging early and then dismantling and reforging is costly in silver and materials.

Forging early means you are get bonuses as you go along.

If you forge one legendary piece you will get the maximum bonus. however you may get the same bonus or more if you build more  pieces of epic , rare or unusual instead.

When crafting multiple gear for one piece, do you need to insert gems into all the pieces before or wait till the finished product?
