clan battle: adding members

Clans to battle against each other are selected for a more or less balanced game: clans have similar total influence. In the last battle the other clan added a much bigger player for the battle:

- the clan had one member less than 24hrs before the battle started

- the clan added a member with 100x more influence during the battle

- that big member left the clan again after the battle.

So it looks as if the are doing this for every clan battle.

Does not seem fair or am I overlooking something??

Juggling membership is a plain abuse of the clan matching system and plarium introduced a device to limit it by providing that on leaving a clan you cannot rejoin for 24 hours.  However this did not wholly deter the cheats and you will encounter them from time to time, as you did on this occasion.  Judging from my own experience the practice is not widespread - it is encountered occasionally rather than often.

If he joined less than 24 hours b4 start, he should not have been able to score points because event would have already been posted.

It's not possible to see if he did score (I understand that would mean there is a bug in the system), but he did enough damage:

- interfere with out attacks on ghosts and invaders

- position his town close by so that he could attack us if our shield went down or we would try yielding without shield.

They did score quite some points for yielding/ghosts/invaders. And we did not witness any yielding and most attacks on ghosts en invaders came from the new member. So I don't feel very certain that the new member did not score points in some way.

There is always some scamming going on and even if they dont get points, theres obviously some advantage to be had or they wouldnt do it.

I have been the victim of the situation, where the  opposition has deliberately manipulated the draw to get an easier match.

Its another reason for not taking the game, or so called competitions seriously anymore.

There is a time gap between the draw being made and the announcement of the event.  So I speculate that a player leaving, on Saturday say, can rejoin an hour before the announcement appears and is likely not to have been counted in the draw but to be able to score in the event.

If that is true plarium could circumvent the trick by publishing the time when the draw is made and specifying that a player joining after that time cannot score points.

That said I agree that a player who cannot score points can still influence the outcome.  One obvious way is by participating in battles in the SH.  The presence of their troops will aid the scoring clanmates to achieve more kills.  Similarly if they participate in onslaughts upon the opponent's SH.

In battles for the sh, they could definitely affect the score.

Plarium is now stating that if you join clan less than 30 minutes before event is posted you can't score

Are you sure thats a recent regulation?

New players might not be bothered about scoring points( especially if they have already bought everything and otherwise are bored), but  as you pointed out, they can still interfere with the competition.

This battle it happens again: we were first facing one member and after the event started, a second member joined the clan and the points of the clan started going up faster.

So maybe the new player does not get any benefits, but it sure looks like they can help the "older" member(s) of the clan.

Yes, another thing the non-scoring player can do is to apply SH speed-ups.

While leaving and re-joining to manipulate the pairing process is a clear exploit, a newly joined player helping their new clan seems to me OK.

In some respects you are right, that players who have genuinely just joined a clan ,ought to be able to take part the competitions, except that isnt in the spirit of what the rule says.

If they say there's a deadline ,in order to score points directly, which they introduced to stop'cheating',the same should apply to score points indirectly.

I am not  quite sure how they could accomplish it, but nothing they do during the match should have any effect on the outcome.

It shouldnt be alright for players to regularly drop in and out of a clan just so they can get a better draw, just so they can have a better chance of winning.
